of AUNG SAN SUU KYI - Burma's Nobel Peace Laureate, political
prisoner and leader of her country's nonviolent struggle for democracy.

The event, Sat June 19th at 7:30 pm, is a BENEFIT for this courageous
freedom fighter on the very special occasion of her 65th birthday. Now in
her 14th year of incarceration by Burma's military dictator, Alan Clements
— co-author of The Voice of Hope with Aung San Suu Kyi, invites all who
care about the interplay of global human rights with the human heart and
environmental sanity, to come out and join hands to celebrate the life of a
woman with the moral courage to place the needs of others above her own.

  MAUI RINZAI ZEN MISSION at BALDWIN BEACH.
                  120 Alawai Road - the road into the Baldwin Beach Park.
                  Please arrive on time. Ample parking next to the Zen Center.

                  The event will be hosted by Alan Clements, a long-time
                  friend of the Maui community; a former Buddhist monk,
                  author and satirist; and creator of Spiritually Incorrect: In Defense
                  of Being Human,
with several sold out shows at the MACC.

WHAT:    A presentation by Alan, followed by Q & A, exploring:

What is The current status of Burma and Aung San Suu Kyi?
What is The Guiding Wisdom of her Revolution of the Spirit?  
What is The Nature of Freedom in an Interrelated World?

Why we Should Care about Burma and Aung San Suu Kyi.
And ... inevitably a sneak preview of the NEW Spiritually Incorrect!

Tickets are $25 when booked in advance by email, with payment at the door
the night of the benefit. If you do not book in advance, and if seats remain,
tickets are $35 at the door.

BENEFIT:
 
The Event will support The Burma Project USA and the restoration
of the 60 hours of Aung San Suu Kyi recordings along with her fellow  freedom
fighters, that were recently smuggled out of Burma. The cost of restoration is
approximately $30,000 and will take several months of hi-tech-intensive labor.

These tapes represent the largest most historical collection of recorded materials
of Aung San Suu Kyi and her mentors and key colleagues in the world, and offer
rare insight into the heart & mind of this revolutionary spiritual & political leader.

We are hoping to have a five minute sample of the recordings at the event itself.
